Everlaw Becomes a 2021 Data Privacy Day Champion
We’re excited to announce our commitment to Data Privacy Day 2021 by registering as a Champion for the campaign led by the National Cyber Security Alliance. Everlaw recognizes and supports the principle that all organizations share the responsibility of respecting privacy, safeguarding data, and enabling trust.
Data Privacy Day is a global effort, taking place annually on January 28th, that generates awareness about the importance of privacy, highlights easy ways to protect personal information, and reminds organizations that privacy is good for business. This year, we’re encouraging individuals to “Own Your Privacy” by learning more about how to protect the valuable data that is online. Additionally, we’re encouraging businesses to “Respect Privacy,” which advocates holding organizations responsible for keeping individuals’ personal information safe from unauthorized access and ensuring fair, relevant, and legitimate data collection and processing.
Our goal for the program is to demonstrate our commitment to ethics and our company values, as well as to ensure compliance with our security, privacy, and confidentiality commitments to customers and applicable laws and regulations. Here are a couple of actions we’ve undertaken as part of our commitment to security, compliance, and privacy:
Everlaw has implemented safeguards to protect our customers’ and employees’ data against any accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access.
Team data inventories and data protection impact assessments are updated and reviewed by the Everlaw Privacy team regularly (Everlaw has a SOC 2 Type 2 certification relevant to the Privacy criteria).
