by Colleen Haikes
We’re excited to announce that veteran sales leader Joe Glass has joined Everlaw as our new Chief Revenue Officer. Joe will lead the go-to-market organization, ensuring our sales, customer experience, and business development teams are tightly aligned in building toward our mission of promoting justice by illuminating truth in the practice of law.
Most recently, Joe served as SVP and GM of Global Markets and Sales at leading data enablement platform LiveRamp, managing its global revenue and customer teams. Joe joined LiveRamp as its 46th employee and helped the company scale over his 11-year tenure, playing a pivotal role in multiple LiveRamp acquisitions and milestones.
Here’s a closer look at why Joe chose Everlaw and his vision for the company.
Choosing Everlaw
For Joe, joining Everlaw represents an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a field that is being reshaped by AI. After meeting with dozens of companies during his search for the next step in his career, Everlaw stood out.
“Everlaw jumped off the page for me,” Joe said. “The company is solving fascinating problems, like modernizing evidence discovery and legal management. My mom was a trial consultant, and I saw firsthand the inefficiencies of old-school filing cabinets and paper trails. Today, with more data from video, audio, text, and beyond, there’s an enormous opportunity to bring game-changing technology to the legal industry.”
Beyond Everlaw’s compelling mission, Joe was drawn to the company’s impressive team and the in-office culture.
“AJ Shankar is a forward thinker,” Joe said. “He and the leadership team have positioned the company well on its AI journey. With the foundational work already in place, I’m confident we can take Everlaw into its next phase of growth.”
Scaling Everlaw: A Vision for the Future
At LiveRamp, Joe played a pivotal role in growing the company from about 50 to 1,500 employees and transforming it from a single-use-case solution to a comprehensive enterprise platform. Joe sees a similar trajectory for Everlaw.
“Everlaw’s business model and strong foundation make it an exciting time to join,” Joe explained. “Scaling involves a customer-focused approach, building repeatable processes, and expanding our presence in law firms, corporations, the public sector, and through strategic partnerships. These areas have the potential to propel us into the next level of growth.”
The Role of AI and Innovation
AI is central to Everlaw’s evolution, and Joe is enthusiastic about its potential to reshape legal workflows.
“Combining the vast amounts of data in litigation with AI models offers an opportunity to uncover gold nuggets for legal teams. Everlaw’s forward-thinking approach delivers real, impactful AI results.”
Joe highlighted the importance of both data and trust in the legal space. “Legal tech is unique. It’s not just about innovation; it’s about ensuring privacy and confidentiality, which aligns with Everlaw’s enterprise credentials.”
Personal Insights: The Path to Legal Tech Leadership
Growing up with a trial consultant mother and an IT director father, Joe developed a passion for law and technology.
“As a kid, I wanted to be the starting quarterback for Michigan or a lawyer,” Joe joked. “My mom would ask us kids to weigh in on cases, sparking my interest in justice and problem-solving. Those foundational experiences shaped my career.”
Joe’s leadership philosophy centers on empathy, accountability, and empowerment. “Seeing others succeed – customers, employees, and the company – motivates me. There’s nothing better than watching a customer get promoted because of the impact our platform has had on their work.”
Roots in Oakland
Joe’s connection to Oakland runs deep. He was born at Oakland Children’s Hospital – now UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital – and raised in the Bay Area,
“Everlaw’s Oakland roots are part of what makes this opportunity so special to me. It’s a chance to contribute to a company that’s not only innovating in legal tech but also supporting the Town.”
Looking Ahead
Joe added, “The convergence of big data, complex use cases, and a rapidly evolving AI landscape creates a massive opportunity for Everlaw. I’m thrilled to work with such a talented team to build on our successes and unlock new growth opportunities.”
We’re excited to have Joe onboard and can’t wait to see how his leadership shapes the next chapter of Everlaw’s journey. Welcome, Joe!
